The new Stainless Steel model is interesting for its design — the body is made of stainless steel, which gives the device a fashionable style, and rich equipment. The kit comes with four plastic attachments for trimming beards and mustaches, as well as two mechanical attachments — one for sub-close shaves and creating trendy grooves in short haircuts, and the second for trimming hair in the nose and ears.

The kit contains a small comb, a brush for cleaning the machine and oil for lubricating the moving blades of the main trimmer head. It is convenient that the set includes a fabric bag-case with compartments for small items and a stainless steel trimmer stand.

Appearance and ergonomics

As we have already said, the trimmer has a thin body made of stylishly brushed stainless steel, which practically does not weigh down the device. The top and bottom parts are polished to a mirror surface, and the laser engraved company logo is located at the bottom of the device.

WAHL Stainless Steel 9818-116 trimmer review: steel body and sub-fast chargingThe power button is located in the upper front part of the trimmer and is combined with a blue LED backlight. An excellent solution that will not allow you to accidentally press it during shaving. The LED flashes while the trimmer is in operation and stays on while charging. The power plug is connected at the bottom of the device. The connector is initially closed with a red plug and while it is plugged in, the machine will not turn on — a kind of protection against accidental pressing on the road in a case.

WAHL Stainless Steel 9818-116 trimmer review: steel body and sub-fast chargingThe same factor also works when the power supply is connected to the trimmer — during the charging process, it will not work to turn on and use the machine. This means that the device can only be used when the plug is pulled out of the slot and the power supply is turned off.

The trimmer fits comfortably in the hand, does not slip and allows you to comfortably trim the beard, whiskey and any other, including hard-to-reach areas of the body.

Trimmer at work

The machine is fully charged in approximately 1 hour, after which it will run for approximately 4 hours, depending on the attachments used. The charger will not start the machine. If it turned out to be discharged, and you urgently need to trim your mustache or beard, just connect the trimmer to the charger for 1 minute and this charge will last for about 5 minutes of work.

The machine works quietly, the sound is quite comfortable. The knives are sharpened perfectly, the cutting is not noticeable, so you need to be careful and accurate when trimming your hair.

Removal of nozzles is carried out by simple snapping off when pressing on the working part. However, installation can cause some difficulties due to the fact that you need to accurately align the special guides and clamps.

When installing the sub close shaving unit — trimming the beard under the chin and making artistic grooves, the sound of the trimmer operation changes and becomes louder. It will not be possible to shave smoothly with this nozzle — the bristles remain approximately the same as after daytime unshaven. But with this nozzle, you can safely shave your armpits and intimate places, while you will not get irritation.

The second mechanical nozzle for shaving the hairs in the nose and ears is much quieter and has proved to be excellent. The only thing is, perhaps its length will not be enough for someone.

Both nozzles do not require disassembly, so to clean them, you will have to shake and blow them well.

One of the nozzles has a height regulator — 4 positions from 2 to 12 mm, which can be very valuable for someone.

Test results:

Trimmer WAHL Stainless Steel 9818–116 liked the nice design and stainless steel body. The machine operates relatively quietly, with little or no transmission of vibration to the hand. I liked the fast charging and very accurate sharpening and jewelry work of the main knife block.

The additional mechanical blocks are also very convenient to use: one for safe trimming of narrow places and the second one for shaving the hair in the nose and ears. The only thing is that they work a little noisier than the main unit. Fast charging saves a lot, but I would like to work from the network, which is not provided for in this model.

A nice addition to the kit is a designer stand made of stainless steel and a bag with compartments — it is convenient to store nozzles and take the machine with you on the road.

Trimmer WAHL Stainless Steel 9818–116 Stainless Steel 9818–116 is already on sale at a price of about 10,800 rubles.
