When testing on carpet, we had to seriously listen to determine whether the device worked or not. If you reduce the suction power so that the brush does not stick to the floor, then the vacuum cleaner will work no louder than the video card. Thus, while you remove dust and hair, you can talk, listen to music or watch TV in peace. You can clean at any time without disturbing the neighbors — even in the middle of the night.
We do clean
The maximum level of power consumption measured by us during tests was 700 watts. Nevertheless, the VX8‑2 does its job well: after several passes, it cleans the carpet by 82 percent, it collects 99 percent of “test debris” from a hard surface. Disadvantages appear when the test conditions become more complicated: only 35 percent of the garbage can be removed by a vacuum cleaner from a deep gap. Due to the above results, the VX8 can only be classified as average in terms of performance, but it still scored 91 percentage points in the corresponding category.

Not for climbing stairs
In the rest of the test categories, the VX8‑2 shows only minor flaws: it lacks a built-in accessory compartment. In addition, the range (11.2 meters) here is only large, not huge. The weight of the vacuum cleaner is perhaps the most important argument that does not speak in its favor. The small VX8‑2 weighs a whopping 7.8kg, the fourth heaviest vacuum cleaner we’ve tested. When moving the device on the same plane, this is still not so noticeable, but if you have to move it from place to place many times, sooner or later the weight will make itself felt. The volume of the 3.5‑liter dust container is also below average.
Alternatives
Siemens VSQ5X1230
Our old ranking leader will cost much less and offer a high level of comfort. We especially like its large sliding wheels. In terms of cleaning performance and ease of use, it outperforms the VX8‑2, but falls short in other categories.
DirtDevil DD7071‑3 rebel 73 HF
Does the noise bother you? Dirt Devil Rebel 73HF, although it received only 44 percentage points in the evaluation of the noise level, but otherwise it has a lot to offer for its money. You can get a vacuum cleaner without a dust bag with a rating of 100 percentage points for the quality of cleaning by paying only about 3 thousand rubles.

CONCLUSION
AEG VX8‑2 is not the easiest vacuum cleaner. It will not save the most electricity, and its management is not the easiest. However, it’s the quietest vacuum cleaner we’ve tested — and by a huge margin over the competition. And it absorbs very well.
