Atvel G9 cordless vacuum cleaner review: powerful motor and superbrush

Cord­less vac­u­um clean­ers have become a recent trend. This is because it is con­ve­nient to work with them: you do not need to car­ry a wire with you, noth­ing restricts your move­ments. In addi­tion, you can eas­i­ly clean up in the car, even with­out an elec­tri­fied garage or park­ing lot.

But the com­pact size and the need to reduce weight impose their lim­i­ta­tions. There­fore, before buy­ing such mod­els, it would be good to under­stand whether they have a pow­er­ful enough engine and how long the bat­tery lasts. These are some of the main ques­tions that we were going to find out when test­ing the new Atv­el G9 cord­less vac­u­um clean­er.

Engine and filter system

Atv­el G9 is made accord­ing to the clas­si­cal scheme: a unit with a motor and fil­ters that can be used to clean uphol­stered fur­ni­ture and car inte­ri­ors, an exten­sion rod and a set of noz­zles. The engine used here is quite pow­er­ful, 170 watts. It is brush­less, elec­tron­i­cal­ly con­trolled and rotates at up to 125,000 rpm. The vac­u­um clean­er can work in three dif­fer­ent modes.

The main one is, of course, Eco. It is guar­an­teed to be enough for hard floors, and auton­o­my in this mode is about 60 min­utes. If you’re clean­ing up a rug that your pet cat likes to lie on, it’s best to use the Super mode. True, they should not get car­ried away: the bat­tery is con­sumed very active­ly, and even when ful­ly charged, it can sit down in 12 min­utes. In our expe­ri­ence, it is bet­ter to work with auto­mat­ic mode. This is the same Eco, but with the abil­i­ty to auto­mat­i­cal­ly switch to Super when the load increas­es.

The Atv­el G9 uses a 6‑stage fil­tra­tion sys­tem with up to two HEPA fil­ters (class­es 10 and 12). As a result, 99.996% of par­ti­cles as small as 0.3 microns are fil­tered out, which is sim­ply incred­i­ble for a vac­u­um clean­er. For exam­ple, one of the lead­ers in this seg­ment, the Dyson V11, has the same 6‑stage sys­tem that removes 99.97% of dust.

To turn on the vac­u­um clean­er, press the red but­ton next to the mode switch. Here you can argue how much more con­ve­nient such a scheme is than a tra­di­tion­al trig­ger. Some users of the same Dyson V11 (with a trig­ger) com­plained that the fin­ger gets tired dur­ing long clean­ing. At the same time, in order to quick­ly col­lect dirt from a small area of ​​the hall­way or room, the trig­ger, of course, is more prac­ti­cal — you do not need to press the but­ton 2 times.

A lit­tle clos­er to the fil­ter from the pow­er but­ton is an OLED dis­play, which by default dis­plays the cur­rent clean­ing mode and bat­tery lev­el. A mes­sage may also appear on the dis­play indi­cat­ing that the bin is clogged and needs to be emp­tied.

The dust col­lec­tion com­part­ment is very easy to clean. Unlike many sim­pler mod­els, in which you need to press the latch­es to do this, here you just need to pull the con­tain­er — it has a mag­net­ic mount.

Next — take out the block with fil­ters by the han­dle and shake out the con­tents.

The reverse process is also extreme­ly sim­ple: install the fil­ter back and put the con­tain­er in a niche. Its vol­ume, like most sim­i­lar vac­u­um clean­ers, is small — 0.5 liters. But it was quite enough for us to clean a 2‑room apart­ment, which had not been vac­u­umed for sev­er­al days.

Super brush with motor

Tra­di­tion­al­ly, vac­u­um clean­er man­u­fac­tur­ers offer two brush­es: a reg­u­lar or roller brush for clean­ing hard sur­faces and a tur­bo brush for car­pets.

There is LED light­ing at the front, which comes in handy when clean­ing under fur­ni­ture or in dark cor­ners.

Both the roller and the brush are easy to clean. There are two small petals on the side­wall — just press them and you can pull out the roller along with the brush. The range of oth­er noz­zles is tra­di­tion­al. These are fur­ni­ture brush­es (reg­u­lar and motor­ized) and a crevice noz­zle.

There is also a small flex­i­ble adapter — it will help in cas­es where a straight pipe can­not reach the place. For exam­ple, to vac­u­um the top pan­el of cab­i­nets.

How to store it all: 2 different ways

Sep­a­rate­ly, it is worth talk­ing about the stor­age sys­tem of the vac­u­um clean­er itself and acces­sories. Essen­tial­ly, there are two options here. The first is the tra­di­tion­al wall mount for such mod­els. Charg­ing is con­nect­ed to the brack­et, and the vac­u­um clean­er is recharged dur­ing stor­age. The kit includes not only all the nec­es­sary fas­ten­ers, but also a screw­driv­er! Still, a per­fo­ra­tor would be gen­er­al­ly excel­lent.

But there is an alter­na­tive option: a floor stand.

It is good because it can store not only the vac­u­um clean­er itself, but also a large num­ber of noz­zles. True, you will have to remove the tube from the vac­u­um clean­er and put it on every time before clean­ing. The pow­er is also con­nect­ed to the stand, the vac­u­um clean­er is charged and her. In prin­ci­ple, you can also use a com­bined ver­sion: for exam­ple, store a vac­u­um clean­er with a rod and a main brush ver­ti­cal­ly, and store addi­tion­al noz­zles in a stand.

Our impressions

Atv­el G9 was a dis­cov­ery for us: although it is far from cheap, it is com­pa­ra­ble in terms of char­ac­ter­is­tics, build qual­i­ty and mate­ri­als to more well-known mar­ket lead­ers. After a month of oper­a­tion, we have only two con­tro­ver­sial points: a super brush, which, due to its height, does not always crawl under fur­ni­ture, and a pow­er but­ton, which not every­one likes.

Oth­er­wise, there is noth­ing to com­plain about: the engine pow­er is high enough to clean even car­pets with high qual­i­ty, the bat­tery is enough for a large apart­ment, all parts are very easy to remove and assem­ble.
