Robot vac­u­um clean­ers are becom­ing more and more pop­u­lar — now peo­ple do not need to clean car­pets, sofas, dust under the bed and in the cor­ners of rooms on their own. How­ev­er, the dust con­tain­er of the vac­u­um clean­er still requires con­stant clean­ing, which also takes time and can cause prob­lems for users (for exam­ple, due to aller­gies to dust).

The new Lyd­sto R1 smart robot vac­u­um clean­er has a very cool fea­ture — the dust col­lec­tor is cleaned auto­mat­i­cal­ly here, thanks to the base con­nect­ed to it. Let’s see how it works.

Dust collection station

So, the device con­sists of two parts: a vac­u­um clean­er and a dust col­lec­tion sta­tion, which also acts as a charg­ing base. When the robot fin­ish­es clean­ing and arrives for charg­ing, the sta­tion auto­mat­i­cal­ly pulls the garbage out of the con­tain­er and trans­fers it to a sealed dust bag.

The dust col­lect­ing base of Lyd­sto R1 is equipped with a spe­cial chan­nel for debris 430 mm long. Dust does not linger in it for a long time, which avoids block­ages. With a motor speed of 50,000 rpm and a suc­tion pow­er of 30 kPa, the clean­ing effi­cien­cy of the vac­u­um clean­er con­tain­er reach­es 98%.

After col­lect­ing the dust, the waste will be tem­porar­i­ly stored in a spe­cial 3 liter bag. For a small fam­i­ly, this is enough to not emp­ty the dust con­tain­er for a month. At the same time, you can remove and replace the bag with­out touch­ing the garbage at all, which is very con­ve­nient.

Cleaning

Lyd­sto R1 can car­ry out dry and wet clean­ing at the same time. The suc­tion force reach­es 2700 Pa, which allows the robot to col­lect fine dust, wool, hair and pollen. It also has a water tank with an elec­tron­ic drip sys­tem that con­trols the flow of liq­uid accord­ing to the area of ​​​​the clean­ing area. As a result, the water is dis­trib­uted even­ly over the floor, and the vac­u­um clean­er does not leave pud­dles and stains.

Also, the mod­el is able to rec­og­nize car­pets — get­ting on a soft floor cov­er­ing, the robot stops sup­ply­ing water to the rag and turns on the high suc­tion pow­er mode.

Navigation

The Lyd­sto R1 is equipped with a high-pre­ci­sion LDS laser sen­sor and also uses the Lysmart V5 posi­tion­ing and nav­i­ga­tion algo­rithm. The robot builds a map of the room and pre­cise­ly ori­ents itself on it: hav­ing detect­ed an obsta­cle, the device imme­di­ate­ly cor­rects its path.

Working hours

Lyd­sto R1 has a large 5200 mAh bat­tery — it pro­vides 150 min­utes of con­tin­u­ous use. If the robot runs out of pow­er while clean­ing, it will remem­ber the place where it stopped and return to it after charg­ing. This fea­ture is espe­cial­ly use­ful in spa­cious homes and peo­ple with pets who will often use the vac­u­um clean­er for more effi­cient clean­ing.

Results and cost

The robot vac­u­um clean­er has all the mod­ern fea­tures nec­es­sary for fast and high-qual­i­ty clean­ing. He knows how to build a mul­ti­lay­er map of the room, over­comes bar­ri­ers up to 2 cm high, is pro­tect­ed from falls and inde­pen­dent­ly cleans the tank from debris. The pres­ence of a spe­cial dust col­lec­tion sta­tion makes this mod­el one of the most func­tion­al on the mar­ket. At the same time, the vac­u­um clean­er is much cheap­er than ana­logues — about $ 350. So such a pur­chase can be safe­ly called very prof­itable.
