We have already tested the yeedi K650 model — although it could not build room maps, it was controlled from a smartphone. Since the robot made a very positive impression, we decided to take an older model for testing — yeedi 2 hybrid.

Design and construction

The design of the 2 hybrid is quite traditional: a central turbo brush, two side “panicles”, a bumper with sensors. The robot can carry out both dry and wet cleaning.

In the latter case, you need to fix a napkin (reusable or disposable, both are included) in the back of the device. Water enters it automatically, and you can adjust the degree of moisture (make it less or more intense). I must say, even in the most intensive mode, there are no puddles on the hard floor.

The top panel contains the start button and the VSLAM system camera, which allows the robot to build a map of the room.

If you lift the panel, you will find a power button and a dust container under it. It is convenient to pull it out by the handle, then you need to press the latch and fold back the back wall.

Here I want to pay attention to the details. Since we already have a lot of experience in testing robotic vacuum cleaners, we notice even seemingly insignificant moments. For example, a folding container wall is convenient. If it is removable, you will have to put it somewhere first, and then empty the container. In 2 hybrid you can do it with two hands.

Or, say, a filtration system. Many vacuum cleaners have a fine filter, but here it is protected by a metal mesh that collects large debris. On inexpensive models, there may not be such a “pre-filter” — then you have to constantly shake out the fine filter. In short, the design is thought out very well.

Despite the fact that yeedi is sold only on AliExpress, the branded application is qualitatively Russified, and the robot itself speaks Russian without errors — you just need to switch it from English. 2 hybrid is very easy to connect: just show the camera a QR code from the application screen. Functions such as launch, schedule setting are available immediately.

Cleaned up and trained

At the first use, the robot, as usual, follows the logic known to it alone. For example, he seems to have completely cleaned the room, then returns to it again. Or when cleaning the rug, it first leaves a small area on it, and after a while crawls and protects it. In a word, do not pay attention to it — in this way he not only cleans up, but also builds a map of the room. To create a more or less accurate, he needs to clean up several times.

At the same time, with each update of the map, the cleaning speed increases. In the two-room apartment where we conducted the test, the first “race” took 47 minutes, the second — already 37. By the fourth time, the robot had 32 minutes. The area served by the vacuum cleaner is 20–21 m² (do not confuse with the total).

After the map is built, the user has additional options. For example, the application automatically divides the map into rooms — you can send the robot to clean specifically in the nursery or living room. In addition, of course, there are modes for cleaning a small space and collecting garbage around the edges of the room.

If you have areas where the vacuum cleaner constantly gets tangled or stuck (such as wires under a table), it is better to put a barrier in this place. Then he won’t go there at all.

If he does get confused, he will let you know with a voice alert and a push in the app.

We were satisfied with the quality of cleaning. The robot has three levels of suction power. On hard floors, it cleans with the standard one, but if it drives into a high-pile carpet or gets into an area with heavy pollution, it automatically turns on a higher power. As a result, even on carpets, he manages to cope with pet hair as well as a conventional vacuum cleaner.

At the end of cleaning, the vacuum cleaner crawls to the charging station. He informs the owner about all his actions (by voice and through the application). However, if you don’t like it, you can turn it off. The manufacturer claims that 2 hybrid can work up to 200 minutes. endless.

Our impressions of Yeedi 2 hybrid

The robot turned out to be very functional, and at the same time it is inexpensive for a model capable of building indoor maps: until April 3, it can be bought at a price of about 22,000 rubles, and with delivery from the warehouse of the Russian Federation in three days. The design is well thought out, the software is quite adequate, there are many opportunities for cleaning. The only negative is that there are no spare side brushes in the kit, but this is not such a big problem.

By the way, if you are interested in wet cleaning, keep in mind that it can be different for robots — we wrote about this in our other article. We also have a robot vacuum guide to help you find the right model for you.
