The best bimetallic heating radiators. Photo: shutterstock.com
It is difficult to imagine a modern apartment without a heating radiator. The demand for these devices is quite high. Manufacturers are trying with might and main to surprise the end user with ergonomics, original design, quality, and even the weight of the device. In today’s selection, we intend to carefully study bimetallic heating radiators. This device has a number of significant differences from its analogues. In particular, two metals are used simultaneously in the design of the device: steel and aluminum. The latter provides the device with high heat transfer and strength, and steel makes the radiator resistant to corrosion. Outwardly, it is rather problematic to distinguish a bimetallic radiator from a conventional aluminum appliance. They look exactly the same. The main difference lies inside. The aluminum plates of the device are attached to the core of the radiator, which is made of steel pipes.
KP has carefully analyzed the proposals from manufacturers and compiled a rating of the top 10 bimetallic heating radiators in 2022.
In the first place of our rating is a bimetallic radiator Royal Thermo BiLiner 500. This device is painted with ultra-resistant 7‑level paint. This prevents chips and cracks from appearing on the surface. Manufacturers have also thought about the design part. So, the radiator is available in three different colors (white, black and gray). It will perfectly fit into any interior. The warranty for the device is 25 years.

How to choose bimetallic heating radiators
As you can see, bimetallic heating radiators have different parameters. They withstand a certain level of pressure, have a different number of sections and differ in the distance between the axles. The CP has consulted with to the leading construction YouTube channel and finishing master Pavel Sidorik.

Installation location and dimensions
First you need to decide where the device will be installed. Most models have a standard height of 500mm. They will ideally fit into the interior, where the window sills are installed at a height of 700–800 mm. However, if your window sill is lower, then you should pay attention to radiators with a height of 300 mm.
Durability
The most optimal warranty period is 15 years. Before buying, pay attention to this figure. It is recommended to purchase devices with this or more warranty periods. Some manufacturers offer a 50-year warranty on radiators.
Design
Every person dreams of a perfect interior. Naturally, those models that have several colors to choose from will be the most preferable for purchase.
Monolith or sections
Most bimetallic radiators consist of sections. There are usually an even number of them. These items are factory made. They merge into one. Joints between sections are equipped with hermetic gaskets. This allows you to add multiple sections if needed. However, there are also monolithic structures. Their distinguishing feature is the ability to cope with high pressure. A monolithic steel core is installed inside such a device. Its strength is much higher than sectional.

Heat dissipation
The standard section of the bimetal model operates at a power of 150–180 watts. It is better to purchase those devices that have this indicator higher.
Preliminary check
Pavel also notes that there is a risk of acquiring a radiator with a chipped paintwork. Usually this defect appears during the transportation of the device. Therefore, be sure to inspect the device before buying.
