Hanging cabinets allow you to save space in the kitchen, expanding the useful area of the headset. It is extremely important to make high-quality and durable fastening of kitchen cabinets to the plank, as they create a large load on the wall and clamps.Mounting kitchen cabinets

Mounting options

The use of innovative fastening equipment greatly simplifies the installation of the upper tier. It makes it possible to eliminate small flaws in marking. High-quality fastening increases the strength of the entire headset. The installation process does not require much effort, and all the work can be done by one person.

To fix the upper pedestals on the wall, special mounting brackets and a mount for kitchen cabinets, called a hinge, are used. The hinge consists of hooks that are fixed on the boron wall of the cabinet from the inside. Thus, the fastening remains invisible from the outside.

Hanging height

Before starting the process of installing the upper kitchen modules, it is necessary to choose the right height at which they will be located.

Its value is determined based on the height of the person who will most often use the headset. The modules should be located at such a height that you can easily reach at least the bottom shelf in the wall cabinet.

The gap between the countertop and the bottom of the cabinets on the walls should be 50–60 cm. If the hanging furniture is placed above the refrigerator, the height is equal to the lower level of the cabinet hinge.

Preparatory actions

Before starting work, you need to prepare the walls on which the installation is carried out. They must be even. If you are going to install a corner kitchen set, you should make sure that the angle formed by the walls is exactly 90 °.

Before installing furniture, it is necessary to carry out all electrical work, mark sockets, lamp leads, etc. It is necessary to complete the wall decoration on which the cabinets will be placed. It should be pre-pasted with wallpaper or painted, mount a kitchen apron. After installing furniture, it will be much more difficult to do repairs.

Necessary tools and materials

To carry out high-quality work on installing a kitchen set, in particular, hanging cabinets, you must have a number of tools and materials with you:

  • screwdriver, drill or puncher;
  • building level;
  • a hammer;
  • tape measure and pencil;
  • clamps are an optional tool that may be required to connect several cabinets to each other in order to give the structure a monolithic effect;
  • when anchoring, a wrench will be required;
  • a certain amount of self-tapping screws and dowels (you can purchase screeds for connecting cabinets to each other);
  • strap for fastening (tire).

Installation instructions

Fastening kitchen cabinets begins with the installation of hooks. They are fixed with adjusting screws. The elements are mounted on the walls of the cabinet in such a way that they look outward by 3–5 mm and can catch on the mounting rail. After that, you need to start marking on the wall. These notes will form the basis for future work. When applying them, the following rules should be followed:

  • If the hanging modules will be located above high floor cabinets or built-in appliances, then during the marking they should be put in their places.
  • Mounted modules are overlapped on the kitchen apron or close to it.
  • The mounting rail should be 3–5 cm below the top edge of the wall cabinet. To correctly calculate the distance, you need to put the bar to the back of the furniture module at the point of attachment to the wall.

After marking with a drill, holes are made in the wall for installing the plank. For convenience, shallow recesses are preliminarily made in the places of future holes.

If the wall began to crumble during drilling, you first need to make a hole of a smaller diameter, and then expand it with a large drill. The depth of the holes must correspond to the length of the dowels. When working, take into account the location of the wiring so as not to accidentally touch it with a drill.

Dowels are carefully driven into the holes made. A bar is installed on the fasteners. The top row is attached to it with the help of a hinge. The position of the kitchen cabinet on the wall can be adjusted slightly with the adjusting screws.

After the mounting of the cabinets on the rail is completed, the individual modules are connected to each other to create the effect of structural integrity. This is done by fixing individual pedestals with clamps. The clamps are installed in the direction from the corner cabinet.

To prevent the walls of the upper tier from cracking from pressure, wooden wedges are placed between them and the clamp. Holes are drilled through adjacent walls of wall cabinets in the kitchen, into which mounting screws are screwed. After that, the clamps can be removed.

Features of hanging on drywall

Attaching hanging cabinets to a plasterboard wall has some nuances. The material does not have great strength, so modules weighing more than 15 kg cannot be hung on the surface.

The mounting plate is attached not only to the drywall wall, but also to the metal profile, which is located behind it. This way you can achieve greater strength fasteners. If you want to hang heavier furniture modules on the wall, then the kitchen cabinets are fixed to the wall by using elongated anchor bolts.
